Our Fleet

The Boats

Our vessels are the heart of Bayou Family Fishing — donated time, long-term care, and plenty of good stories. Pro charter captains donate slots, and members help keep them running.

Uncle John's Campagna Skiff

Uncle John's Campagna Skiff

Classic Fiberglass Skiff · Shallow-Draft · Family Vessel

A true bayou classic. Uncle John's Campagna Skiff is a shallow-draft family vessel built for the tight canals and open marsh alike. She's perfect for beginner fishing days and youth outings — the kind of boat that builds memories and first catches. Named for family, built for community.

The Ms. Carrol

The Ms. Carrol

Louisiana Shrimp Trawler · Working Heritage Vessel

The Ms. Carrol is a traditional Louisiana shrimp trawler and one of our most storied boats. She's a living connection to the commercial fishing heritage that defines this coast. We use her for special cultural outings and to remind members where bayou tradition comes from.

Last Chance

Last Chance

Bay Boat · Open Water & Marsh Runs

The Last Chance is our go-to vessel for group trips into the marshes and open bay. Versatile and well-loved, she handles everything from a calm sunrise run to a full afternoon of redfish chasing. A community favorite and a regular on pro charter deferral days.

The Check Twice

The Check Twice

Center Console · Open Water · Charter Deferral Days

Clean, fast, and dependable — The Check Twice is our modern center console built for open-water runs and charter deferral trips. The name says it all: we check our safety gear twice, because we care about every person who steps aboard. Used for Confidence Course training and member outings.

Bait By You Hook it or Cook it

Bait By You — Hook it or Cook it

Louisiana Trawler · Deep Bayou Roots

The name says everything about who we are. "Bait By You — Hook it or Cook it" is a working Louisiana trawler with deep bayou character and community roots. She represents the spirit of self-reliance and celebration that makes fishing culture here unlike anywhere else in the world.

🎓 Confidence Course & Licensing Note

A Louisiana boating license is required to participate in the Confidence Course and to be eligible to rent out club boats. We support members in getting licensed — ask about our upcoming licensing assistance workshops.

Our Land

Welcome to INNISFREE

🌿 We just bought it.

Louisiana Marshland,
Louisiana Community

INNISFREE is a piece of Louisiana marshland we now own outright — and it's going to become something extraordinary. A hub for fishing, camping, boat training, cultural preservation, and community gathering. But first, we need to build it. Together.

The Vision

Building Up, Together

INNISFREE isn't just land — it's a canvas for cultural preservation and community investment. We're building it from scratch, and every volunteer, every donation, and every member dues contributes to what it becomes.

1

Dock Repair & Construction

Our first priority. We need hands to help repair the existing dock structure and extend it for boat access.

2

Land Clearing & Prep

Clearing pathways, establishing safe zones, and preparing the land for structures and camps.

3

Fishing Camps

Youth and family overnight fishing camps are the dream. Once the land is ready, this is where it gets special.

4

Cultural Preservation

Protecting and celebrating the traditions, language, food, and heritage of Louisiana's bayou communities.

Our Story

About Us

Kyle Rockefeller

Our Founder

Built on Passion,
Rooted in Culture

I love being around boats and airplanes! I spent a little time in uniform with the Louisiana Air National Guard, but it was over the many years as a contractor at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station where I feel like I really served.

I finally became a good mechanic and did some work I was really proud of. However, the most important work was making friends and building relationships.

Bayou Family Fishing was born from that same belief — that everyone deserves a chance to get out on the water, feel the pull of a line, and connect with the living culture of Louisiana's bayous. The purchase of INNISFREE marks a new chapter: a permanent community home for fishing, culture, and memory-making for generations to come.
